75 years of freight at Nice Côte d'Azur Airport

75 years of freight at Nice Côte d'Azur Airport

Nice Côte d'Azur Airport opened 75 years ago. At the same time, a team was involved with freight. Vincent MARI was the first freight forwarder at the airport since 1946. At that time, there was no office to complete the formalities, but only a corner desk, and this upon request. Luxury textiles, perfumes, essential oils and flowers were exported in the mythical DC3, which could carry 2.5 tonnes of goods. Until 1954, Nice was also a stopover for foodstuffs and military equipment bound for Indochina. 75 years later, Nice Côte d'Azur includes an ultra-modern freight station hosting Transports MARI, whose services constantly evolve year-to-year.

It was yesterday, in 1936, that Mr Vincent MARI received approval from the customs administration under number 110 for Transports MARI. In 1950, Transports MARI became the first customs and transit agent in Nice. In 1974, the company received another approval from the customs administration under number 3676. And it is now listed in the Official Journal of 2 August 1974. Since then, its customs and transit agents work to make freight transport one of the spearheads of the development of Nice Côte d'Azur airport. They respond to increased demands in terms of quality, but also in terms of goods flows. They cover all international import and export traffic. In addition, they handle all customs clearance operations.

So far, Transports MARI provides services in the areas of transit, import and export of goods, private removals, industrial removals and the transportation of works of art and antiques. Thanks to years of experience in administrative and customs formalities, its agents are able to assist you in all legal procedures. They meet individuals and professionals’ needs for all types of removals and international shipments. Each of the company’s performance is matched with a personal door-to-door service.
